Application for Steemit Community Curators - September 2024

Hello, Steemit Team and everyone in the community. Today, I'm writing this in hopes of being included in the Community Curator search that's currently taking place for the month of September here on the blockchain. While I'm a newbie to the platform, I'm a social media expert with over 20 years of multi-platform work with several notable companies, including community organizational duties at MySpace in 2004 (left when site split in 2006), social director at kikfor three years (2007-2009), and most recently as head of marketing at Digital Revamp. My experience is quite vast across all social media markets, and I already spend time on the chain searching out new content.

I've spent nearly the last 20 years searching for perfect content and ways to market and promote it in a community atmosphere, which, I believe, is what this position is for the most part. I believe I could be a major asset to the curation team and the community as a whole. My choice for a teammate (if forced to have one) would be limited to @httr4life, even though I am listed as a moderator in his communities since I do not know anyone else. We've known each other since we were kids, so naturally, he invited me to the site when he returned after six years away. If the moderator title is an issue, I will gladly drop it as it is a title in name only...I have no mod duties in either of his just-starting communities (less than 20 people and started within the last few weeks with only small amounts of outside user interaction, I believe).

My clear qualification for recognizing great content should stand on its own merit, but to add to that, I'm also fluent in three languages (English, French, and Spanish). So rewarding content in other regions should not be an issue for me (not to mention most web browsers have a translation option these days.

While the idea of a one-person team or one with two North Americans may not have been in the original plans, I feel like the overall idea of this program is to obtain the best curator teams possible so that the users here on the Steemit blockchain are taken care of in the manner they should be. I can vouch for @httr4life in knowing that he himself already seeks out content that is not already being rewarded here and has instituted a couple of contests aimed at helping people with little to no power. I also know him to be fluent in English and Spanish and that he runs two Facebook pages each with over 200,000 followers. We ran an NFL podcast based on the Washington Redskins (now Commanders) up until about four years when the team changed their name. I still produce and edit all of his content, so we are used to working closely even though he lives in North Carolina and I live in Virginia (via the internet, phone, etc.). This, by the way, is like the equivalent of one person living in Ireland and another living in England (size-wise), so it may be unfair to disqualify us for living in the same country (in the US, each state is close to the same size or bigger than most European countries).

I ask that the team take our application into consideration in hopes that we (or just me) can lead one of your teams in the month of September. Below is a screenshot of our power structures for each of our accounts. We are both active and willing to do what is needed to help the community, including, but not limited to, giving monthly reports and staying within all perimeters of the curator program in terms of use. We both love commenting and keeping interaction up, so this would be a great fit for our team if given the opportunity.
