The reason is because there are far too many people who will make very insecure passwords and then get angry when they get hacked even though the fault rests entirely on them. If you can remember your password, it is almost certainly not secure. Due to the way steemit is set up, things like login attempt limits can't exist, which makes it even more essential to have strong passwords.
and they should be able to have there crap passwords and get hacked, evolution in he cyber age! would be nicer if I could enter my own password of 3 full sentences with no spaces. whatever tho I finally got it entered!
