Philosophy of Ketupat
On Idulfitri, it is incomplete if you do not provide ketupat as a meal. Ketupat is one of the typical snacks during Lebaran and usually served with chicken opor and other dishes.
ketupat or in the Sundanese and Javanese traditions called kupat is very synonymous with Idulfitri although sometimes also associated with the celebration of Iduladha.
Where there is an Idulfitri congratulations, it is almost certainly a picture of a ketupat. the presentation of ketupat on the holidays proved to have many meanings.
There is a tradition of Javanese soil called "kupda kupat" which begins a week after Lebaran. On that day, almost in every house seen people were weaving the rhinoceros from young coconut leaves. after the plunged, ketupat filled with rice and then cooked. Ketupat is then delivered to older relatives as a symbol of togetherness.
In Javanese philosophy, Lebaran ketupat is not just a typical feast day. Ketupat has a special meaning. ketupat is short for 'admit fast and papat'.
'Swift claim' means to admit mistakes and 'papat' means four actions. In addition, ketupat also has other philosophy that is:

because ketupat usually served with vegetables cooked with coconot milk (santan) , in literature langguage of Java sometimes dubbed as "kupat santen" which means' Kulo lepat nyuwun ngapunten (I am sorry).
That is the meaning and philosophy of ketupat. how great the role of the guardians in introducing the Islamic religion by cultivating the cultural traditions around such as Lebaran tradition and ketupat dish that has been rooted until today.
