WEDDINGS
Major gratitude goes to #culturevulture @eroche and @anomadsoul fot this initiative. I've been having the 'writers block' for some time now, and after going through the post, I discovered I actually have a lot to reveal.
I'm a Full Nigerian, both parents are from here, I school here too, so basically, my life revolves around Nigeria. Like we know, Nigeria has 36 states, I've visited about 9 of them, which have exposed me to other customs. Oh, here, ethnicity is held in high esteem.
Now, each ethnic group has her own distinctive customs and cultures. I'm not gonna begin a Historical lecture, I just wanna talk about weddings.
IGBO WEDDINGS
Weddings are hugely celebrated by these set of people. On one occassion, I was stuck in traffic for over 1 hour, because of an Igbo wedding. lol
First thing you should know bout these ones is that they place very high value on the bride, hence their bulky marriage list from the grooms family and bride price.
You just need to attend an Igbo wedding Please! The stylish traditional decoration of the place, is enough to keep you there. Thats the first thing anyone will see once they step into an igbo wedding venue
The next major observation is this. You might be wondering what's going on here, but this is highly significant. Its traditional for the bride to search for her groom and serve him with the glass of native wine recieved from an elderly family representative. The husband has to sip, as a sign of acceptance.
One thing I love about the Igbos is their attires. It's so dope (if that word is still in vogue. lol). The bridal squad have her own attire and it's too beautiful and chic. Take a look
The groomsmen have a smooth look too, not to compete with the women, but to level up to a flawless standard. I love the way the groomsmen are carefully selected. They all just fit right in for the job.
YORUBA WEDDINGS
AYE! I love these guys. Everything about them amazes me. They should be the noisiest tribe in Nigeria, but thats one of the things that make them awesome. These ones, they go ALL OUT for a wedding, you have no idea. Everyone is actively involved, from young to old. God, they are crazy people. lol
Now, let me address the Legendary Gele. This is a headwrap for women;because Yorubas are stylish people, they make gele very hypnotizing with their tying skills. A Yoruba bride always wears Gele on her wedding. HELLO! Thats like the introduction of her beauty
Do not, for a second, think the Yorubas don't have squads like the igbos, because they do and its so sick.
HAUSA WEDDINGS
Okay, I haven't been to lots of Northern states, but I appreciate the Hausa people and their unique culture. These guys are not as expensive and demanding as the other tribes. They are fixed on their rites and customs.
The most eye catching accessory on an Hausa bride has to be the 'henna'. The bride's hands and feet are decorated by an attendant
Of course, they have squad goals too
So, that's about it guys. I hope you enjoyed this little exposition.

Wow...this is just so nice. Looks like the hausas are boring when it comes to weddings. Thanks for the exposition.
Lol. I'm not sure they are. I just don't know a lot about their weddings
