Mutual Cultural Understanding
West has been understanding of most the features of west and south Asia, in terms of philosophy and religion. Because Christianity shares same Semitic root with Judaism and Islam, but understanding Indian thoughts from Western point of view can be tricky due to several reasons. And western pagan religions can easily be compared with eastern pagan religions.
According to recent developments, east Asia has seen its rise and raised the importance of making an understanding with western mind. Here comes the difficulty as east Asia doesn't share any kind of Aryan or Mediterranean connection with the west, though east Asia has Islamic, Christian and Socialist presence within itself. But east Asia's Confucian, Taoist and Shinto basis makes it tough for both of the parties to come to a point of easy understanding. So maybe it will be the real 'Clash of the Civilizations', when the time comes.
