Aceh province has a relatively high culture. This culture on the boundary colored the teachings of Islamic Religion, however the influence of Hinduism that has been entrenched before the entry of Islam is still biased. It looks good in customs, artistry and everyday life. The traditional arts of Aceh have a religious, communal, democratic and heroic identity. Literature of Aceh is in the languages of Aceh and Malay (jawi) while Arabic is both word and supposing a lot of studying literature of Aceh.
Everyday clothes in Aceh are in accordance with Islamic principles. Kalalu women are required to cover the genitals: under the feet to the heels, arms and hair. In ancient times, women usually wore trousers, but because of the turn of the circumstances this has changed. Today, Acehnese prefer to wear sarongs and batik blouses, but still in a closed state of aurat. Western clothes are generally worn by young adults, in particular, school children, college students and office people. In fact almost all the clothing within the limits of modesty and half-naked clothing was never seen though on the beach. Tourists will obviously keep the norms in this area. At the time of Ramadan and Friday will be visible signs of strong Islam. During the month of Ramadan all adults are required to fast, but without hampering daily activities. From dawn to sunset, people refrain from eating, drinking and smoking. For non Muslims who want to find food usually can be found certain places that are allowed to sell it, without disturbing the people who fast. However, restaurants are usually closed during the day during the fasting month. On Fridays, men and children go to the mosque to perform the prayers because it is the most glorious day. Offices and shops are closed during Friday prayers.
The manners of people's lives are very important, foreigners or migrants entering a kampong, for example, must obey the rules at least the head of the village knows of their presence. Better yet, he can introduce himself and get acquainted with the others. When two people meet, they greet each other by saying "Assalaamu'alaikum", with the answer "Walaikum Salam". The first person greets the other usually shakes hands. The same greeting to each other between the speech with the audience in formal forums. Giving or receiving something from others is always done with the right hand.

Some gifts from the King are still found in Aceh now. The native Acehnese are all Muslims. The followers of other religions such as, Protestant, Catholic, Buddhist, Hindu, and others are just migrants from other regions or Chinese descendants and strangers. The total number of other religions is no more than 4% of the total population. As an adherent of Islam, the Acehnese people run Islamic law in everyday life and even customs are sourced from Islam.
