The One of the Oldest Wooden Building in Korea.
There was one of the oldest wooden Building in Korea in Soo Deok Sa Temple.
It was main building of this temple Dae Woong Jeon.
It is believed that this building had been built 800 years ago.
At first glance, you could become aware of long history of this Building.
Let's get closer
The color was faded away. I asked why there was no paining colors(Dan Cheong), but I could not get answer from anybody.
So I took some photos of building.

This building had been built in 1308 AD.
It was miracle wooden building have beeb preserved for such a long time.

This is historic, but 800 years! Still in awe, nice post
it always impresses us to see such an old structure endure through the centuries, @slowwalker, especially a wooden building.
All of man's culture and history are testimony to our desire for permanence which we can never achieve.
There's a sadness about that building - the lack of paint suggests that it has long since weathered away.
We treasure things that endure because we long for stability, but as the poet, Louis Mac Neice wrote, we are ghosts that cannot catch hold of things

It is incredible that a timber construction has managed to remain standing for 800 years. Here in Spain the old wooden constructions only appear in the history books.
