Turmeric
A close relative to the ginger root plant, turmeric is loaded with anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory agents. It's said to aid in the treatment of Arthritis, Alzheimers, Gout, Indigestion, Bacterial and Viral infections, and Cancer with a powerful medicinal compound called Curcumin.
The easiest way to consume it is by making it into tea, but it is also a main ingredient in curry and what makes mustard yellow! The roots are the only part used in both medicine and food. The flowers, however, are to be enjoyed visually.
Turmeric is native to Southeast Asia, requires lots of rainfall and temperatures between 65-80 degrees Fahrenheit.

I buy the roots here is Thailand after using powdered back in the states. It is a lot stronger in taste and I love it. I've never seen the plant before though.
I consume a lot of it since it is anti-inflammatory for arthritis :)

It surely is - I have not seen it before either and so glad you shared.
