Is it Important to Use the Products or Services You Want to Promote?

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday!

My answer to that question is yes, I do think that using a product you want to promote is important. In other words, being a product of the product is necessary to promote it properly and to know who it can serve. How can you know something is useful and good without having used it yourself?

I have been back to using Click Track Profit since it relaunched and I see the value in what is being taught. I know how to promote it. It makes sense to me. My husband and I use sleep spray with CBD and in our experience it is helpful. I could endorse it in all honesty.

I suppose you could read reviews and testimonials on products that you aren't using but think that maybe they can fill a need for some people. But unless they are in a community of people you already know, like and trust.....

If you are just a newbie marketer, trying to buy and use too many products can be very expensive and spread your resources too thinly. I did that early on and it didn't work out too well. My goal is to build my brand around products that I use on a regular basis. I tend to gravitate toward tools and education. CTPtalk is also a great tool for blogging and earning while you learn.

Just curious, what do you think about this?

Have a great day and see you tomorrow!!!

I agree 100% with you! You MUST use the products that you promote! There is no if, or maybe, or depends...

Zoltan, I was thinking about the Ecommerce and Dropshipping business models as an area where this might be an exception. However, even in Ecommerce and Dropshipping, it is recommended to have a niche store with products you have used and at least know something about.

Yes, it’s a question of credibility. You need to understand what you promote so you can help other. However, in many circles active mentoring by sponsors is dead.

I agree, Rob! Credibility takes a long time to build but can be wrecked in no time at all.

Be a product of your product...I think when you lead by example you are showing potential customers and clients that you are 100% behind what you promote...

For example, if we were talking about how awesome the blockchain was and Steem is the best but never created on Steem...Would send mixed signals. Always be a product of your product!

Yes, Jon! I am unsure why someone would promote something they wouldn't use themselves. And being able to train your potential customers on how to use your autoresponder or mailer or whatever else you're promoting is a way to create content as well.

Wholeheartedly yes :) when I was a Teenager and my first job was working in a University Bookshop as a section Manager, one of the things I felt important was to be able to converse with my customers on the subject matter that they were inquiring about, so I was fortunate to read a lot of books. The sections that I managed were, Anthroology, History, Law and Politics.
I became quite converse in those subjects and was able to help my customers select appropriate texts for the work they were doing.
Point being - when you know the product you can talk about the product from an informed position. and there is no other position to have if you are going to promote that product.
Only snake Oil salesmen sell products they dont know anything about from experience

Russell, that makes so much sense. Like I said to Rob, it takes a long time to build your credibility and really no time at all to destroy it. And how do you brand yourself if you're trying to promote too many different things?

In programming we call that eating your own dog food. Best way to support your product because you have personal experience and can understand when users how something works.

That is an interesting image! :-) But yes, I get it. I have a real problem with promoting stuff I wouldn't use.
