When Bitcoin sinks the other cryptocurrencies go down the drain with it.

Back in the day when one wanted to buy an Altcoin you had very little options to buy it with fiat currency so you had to buy Bitcoin first then trade it for the Altcoin you wanted to buy.

Now days there are so many platforms where it's possible to buy Altcoins directly then why is it that the Bitcoin price still has such an impact on most other cryptocurrencies?
