I've heard a higher number then 90%, that 97% of all US dollars only exists digitally, and it would take the federal reserve 20 years to print it all if everyone decided to withdraw all their money at once which is just insane. I've also heard that more then half of Americans still believe the US dollar is pegged to the gold standard! Maybe this widespread ignorance is what keeps the fiat system going.
