Miami has a high GDP which is linked to the economic activity that its people and businesses engage in. Miami in Florida enjoys a high volume of tourists which is attributed to its high level of sunshine throughout the year. Previously, Miami’s economy attained a high number of tourists during winter for other states. However, the city’s tourism has stabilized to a level where it flourishes throughout the year. In 2003, the city had attained over 10.3 tourists who had contributed to an injection of 15 billion in both direct and incidental expenses. therefore industries attached to real estate, restaurants, retail, transportation and medicine flourished and expanded to cater to the high numbers of clients that they received. In 2014, over 96 million tourists had visited the city contributing to a major economic boost for the city. By 2015, the tourism industry had contributed to the employment of over 9 million people in the state, and contributed to the earning of over $50 billion for Florida’s GDP (Dalberg, 2016). The city’s beaches are sandy, its waters clear, a beach of over 600 miles, and over 2000 miles of shoreline. The city has invested in the provision of waterfront related activities for its visitors which are a great attraction. Over 39% of the visitors that make to Miami have described the water related activities and the sandy beaches as a primary reason for their visit to the city. The state also has over 18 amusement parks and over 19 water and theme parks thereby making it a great destination for families from all over the globe. While visitors come to other cities in the states, some of them make a decision to explore Miami and enjoy its beaches and enjoy its water related activities.
Owing to its close proximity to the sea, there are several life-related companies locate in the city. The corporations have contributed to the growth of pharmaceutical related corporations in the region. The health organizations contribute to the existence of many jobs in the city and state thereby contributing to its positive GDP growth. Miami is also home tosome of the largest banks in the state. The state has friendly business related legislation which attracts many businesses and wealthy persons to settle and remain in Miami. The state has some of the largest deposit holding banks in the country thereby contributing to the employment of a large number of bank and other financial services related personnel (Dalberg, 2016).
The city is home to a large number of real-estate companies that house personnel that work in large aerospace and aviation related corporations. There are over 86,000 employees that work in the aerospace and aviation industry with a majority of them living in Miami (Dalberg, 2016). There are many military and veteran based personnel; making it a hub of highly qualified people. There are many constructions, art, and social amenities organizations that keep on coming up. I think that Miami is a great location to set up a profit generating business, and an interesting place to live. The city also bears an advantage in its close proximity to the Caribbean and Latin America. Trade flourishes because it is a stopover for businessmen and some commodities. Many businesses in international destinations have established their branches in Miami to facilitate their growth in America.
