Consistency

In his early 30’s Aaron knew two things:

He didn’t like the attitude that he brought home after work.
He didn’t want his kids to grow up seeing their father stressed all the time.

For the next 6 months, Aaron and his wife planned their trip to escape.

They bought tickets to Thailand with no plan on coming back.

He always thought travel hacking was a fluke, but it itched at him because if it were true – his kids deserved to see their parents happy.

In the meantime, juggling a business while planning to move felt like a jumping off a cliff while searching for the parachute.

“What would my family think?”

“Would my friends get upset because I left?”

Stop it.

There’s real risk.

Then there’s perceived risk.

He see his friends in the rat race – they have perceived risk.

Whenever they want to follow their dreams even for their kids, they can’t pull it together.

Instead, they pull out excuses.

He remember looking out of their villa at the beach and thinking "this is it".

They were paying pennies to live in one of the most beautiful place in the world and their kids grew up with parents who’d never been happier.

Today, they have a fully remote team with over fifty people.

The reason?

Their team deserve to take the right attitude home to their kids.

Because culture doesn’t end in the workplace.
