CryptoKitties Breeding "Cooldown" Explanation

If you don't care about CryptoKitties, please click away now to save us both the embarrassment. Thanks.

If you're stupid enough to "invest" in CryptoKitties like I have, or even to research it, then keep reading for something that I've only JUST figured out. I know, I know. Some people reading this are probably CryptoKitty experts...which is pretty sad, right?

So, how fast you can breed cats is based on the CryptoKitty's cooldown time, listed above. "Fast" is the fastest, obviously, and Catatonic means it takes a week for your cat to be ready to be breed again. The more spry your cat is, the more it's worth.

From what I can tell so far...the "sire" (male?) cat is the only one that suffers from a permanent increase in breeding time if you breed the cats. The female that "lays the egg" does not seem to suffer an increase a permanent increase in breeding time. So, in other words, if you take a cat that is "fast" it is the sire to breed another cat, then there is a chance, or is possibly guaranteed, to be downgraded and become "swift."

So, it goes from a 1m cooldown time for breeding...to 2m - 5m. The more a cat breeds as a sire with other cats, the longer the cooldown becomes, and the less desirable the cat becomes.

The image above is from a cat that is "snappy"...which means there's a 10 minute to 30 minute cooldown before it can breed again. Anyway, I'm embarrassed I'm even talking about this. But it is kind of fun.

Maybe it's the whiskey, though.

Yeah. It's probably the whiskey.
