PHYSIOLOGY OF FEMALE SEXUAL ACT
Guys this conversations I have had with steemians on my blog have left me thinking a lot about how much this experience is similar to life in general. There are many people with who you resonate with.
The female is generally considered a passive partner during the sexual act. But this is far from truth and there is equal involvement of the female partner during sexual intercourse. The sexual act in a female involves both physiological and physical components and occurs in the following three stages:
- Excitement
- Orgasm
- Resolution
Phase of Excitement
This phase corresponds to the stage of erection of Penis in Males. The sexual desire is brought about by sexual thoughts arising in the cerebral cortex and limbic system. Physical stimulation of external Genitalia, Clitoris, and Breast also brings about Sexual arousal.
During the sexual intercourse, the Clitoris is activated by Parasympathetic Impulses. This increases the blood flow to external Genitalia and Nipples, increases Vaginal secretions, and lubricates the Vagina facilitating the movements of the Penis.
Systemic changes during this period include increased Heart Rate, Respiratory Rate, Blood Pressure and increase in Muscle Tone.
Phase of Orgasm
When the Sexual stimulation reaches its peak, it results in Orgasm. This is characterized by rhythmic contractions of Vaginal wall, sudden increase in Skeletal Muscle activity, and changes in Heart Rate and BP. This stage lasts for 15-30 !
Phase of Resolution
This phase occurs immediately after the orgasm. It is characterized by sense of satisfaction and relaxed state of Mind. All the altered parameter come back to the normal level. The skeletal muscle activity also comes back to normal.
