Top 20 Crypto Prices Today vs. 20 Years Ago.

Apparently, this is the screenshot of Coinmarketcap and it is interesting to see how much has changed, but yet how much has remained the same. I think the biggest surprise to me is how well Litecoin has performed from a USD standpoint and how far Dash has fallen in terms of market cap rank, but more below.

Bitcoin has pretty much gone up 8x from the screenshot above. For all those who are complaining about the price and the bear market, it's hard to be upset (at least for those who had invested a year ago) is still up over 8x it's value. It's hard to compare that kind of performance to anything outside of crypto unless your name is Litecoin who is up around 33x its USD value a year ago.

Not counting last December when all alts were taking a beating, Maid is now at the lowest BTC price it has been since December of 2015. I'm not sure if this coin is dead or not, but I haven't heard much from a development standpoint and its price seems to reflect it. It's just barely hanging in the top 100 at rank 90 and is probably if not the largest loser.

I have a feeling this time next year Bitcoin Cash will take the throne for the largest loser that is currently in the top 20. Cardano, Qtum, EOS, and NEO have joined ETC and ETH as some of the top smart contract currencies (I believe Tron is as well correct?). I could be completely wrong, but I expect some of these will fall out of the top 20 as a select few leaders in this area will begin to break away from the pact (my bet is NEO and QTUM with Cardano maybe needing an additional year to truly show it's capabilities).

It's also scary or interesting to see that Tether has gone from a market of $44 million to $1.8 billion. The question is will the implosion of this printing press be the collapse of the crypto "bubble" and what will be the market supply this time next year?

In the comments down below let me know what's been the biggest surprise to you over the past year seeing these two screenshots?

This time next year BTC dominance will be sub 20%. Very likely to see it #2 or #3 coin by 2020. Altcoins gaining big time on Bitcoin. Last year was 85% dominance now 44%, earlier this year at 33%. There's going to be big surprises this year with some coins in the top 20. Half those will be super seeded by others by then. Ripple I think will be one that tanks the hardest in top 5. There's no reason for XRP to maintain huge amounts of value. I the past this coin gets killed in the bear markets. Already its down from $4 to $.50 cents. Bitcoin Cash, while I am not a huge fan will be worth much more than Litecoin next year. Ethereum in #1 position then Bitcoin #2 by 2020. EOS will be huge. At $100 next year. IOTA be fail even harder than XRP. On a positive note market cap will be higher next year than now. This is the bear before the next bull.

I disagree about Bitcoin Cash. I think Litecoin still has a lot of room to grow. Even on the leadership side I think Charlie Lee will beat out Roger Ver.

For sure market cap will be higher and EOS will either be boom or bust. It will either full fill what it's supposed to do or it will be a scam like some say it is. I have a feeling we will see in the next 3 or 4 months which on it is.

Yes, I like BCH. At first thought it was a joke but love there roadmap to fast adoption and HF upgrades. Being in Bitcoin since 2013 the 1 MB limit and Core's leadership bothers me. Bitcoin is the least interest tech for me now. I good people have differences of opinions b/c they can surely find the coins that suit them the best. That's one reason why I love Crypto and know its here to stay.

NEO does seem to have some good legs for a big rise, once all this FUD is done with.

Because NEO was so strong going into the bear market I still feel like it has a lot of downside.

I STILL haven't pulled the trigger on NEO lol.

I have 1 NEO.
