I'm so exited to introduce this new media token that basically gives you payouts just by simply playing a song on spotify, a video on youtube, a podcast on soundcloud and even more!

Yep, You heard that right, free money just by playing your favorite video, podcast, or anything that current currently supports 😉. This gives us, consumers, another source of residual income!

Content creators can also benefit from the platform, they will still earn from from the media they produce from licence fees on their current platform, and on top of that are their earned tokens on current.

But what if I didn't use current but my content gets promoted there?

Well, you can theoretically get more streams on your music or videos, but you can't claim your CRNC tokens... Unless you join Current and then you claim your tokens. The "residual" tokens you earned from what you produced are kept until you claim them (although its only kept for 12 mos., after that it gradually decays and is returned back to the reward pool)

To strategically bring creators onto the platform, Current will be allocating 20% of each earned token to the creators of the media consumed within Current regardless of the media item’s source network. All earnings are held in escrow until the creator joins the network and claims their wallet...An escrow account is created once a creator has accumulated 36,000 seconds (10 hours) of streaming, until then the tokens associated with these smaller creators will go towards the growth pool.

The Drawback

It's all blue skies unless you think about its impact to individual media communities. Platforms with the likes of youtube and soundcloud heavily depend on user interactions. current cuts that off by simply feeding you content, with no comments sections. If current can integrate with these platforms to share communities, it may all be fair and good.

And since they're still in the token sale phase, the part where you earn money might happen later than you think.
