When good old bitcoin was at 7% APY & email was sketchy.
I have started my journey with Celsius network on 5 Oct 2018 with 1Litecoin deposit because at that time many has lost money towards Bitconnect myself included.
Celsius seems too good to be true, with the passive income which was high yield 7% and stuff?
I was skeptical but a risk taker so placed 1 LTC and did my research and when I was confident with my research and Due Diligence, I placed most of my asset on to celsius network on 24Jan 2019 overtime,
On 23 May 2019 Celsius introduce earn in CEL feature.
I was thinking to myself, Using my asset to gain another new asset that might grow in the future and if it doesn't i lose nothing?
So yep i made that risky choice to earn in cel and accumulated tons of CEL Token throughout 1 year, recently it went to $1.30 from $0.09 per Cel Token. I can tick off this bucket list "Gain from nothing" Technically i spent $0 on celsius network, today i benefited over $12k by just earning in Cel. The best button i ever pressed!
I always say placing "x" in your bank it will take you years to gain this but from celsius network it's a game changer.
What is Celsius Network?
I would call it a CryptoBank
How they pay you?
They offer loans to users like us, retail investors and businesses. Using crypto as collateral, the calculator is in the app.
They earn interests from loans issued and profit that is made,
E.g
Bank made $1000 from their loans, they incentivize users like you and me that deposit our money with them with a 1% APY Guarantee rate.
Backend calculations made simple by me.
We make $1000 we take $0.01 and pay that guy from his deposit.
Assuming there is only 1 User.
Celsius use the same banking model and incentivize users with more $$$ which is totally sustainable.
When it comes to businesses people would tend to make as much as they can and ignore that it is the customer that made you today, it's time to give back?
Celsius Loyalty Program & Why get paid in Celsius Token?
This is my own opinion.
CelsiusNetwork has a loyalty program which comes in Bronze, Silver, Gold & Platinum
How does the calculation works? It's simple.
E.g
You have $1000 of Crypto "Including Cel" accumulated in Celsius Network
You will need at least $150 in Cel Token which is 15% to achieve the Platinum Tier to benefit from the 35% Bonus Reward & 30% Loan Interest Loan "If you use the loan feature"
How does the Bonus Reward Works?
Assuming you are a platinum user with 35% bonus reward! It isn't APY + 35% Instead.
The calculation made simple, e.g from my understanding & assumption.
Ethereum "In-kind Reward Rate is 7.06%"
Bonus Reward is activated only when you enable the option to receive your interest in CEL Token instead of ETH.
So it is 7.06*135% = 9.531% Difference of (0.119%) "Rounded up to 9.65%?"
It is roughly like this just to get you to understand that 35% bonus isn't Base APY + 35%, Celsius would go broke :O
