Ripple announces Swell by Ripple, how will XRP market react?

After being calm and quite for several weeks, in the last 3 days the activity on the XRP coin market jumped to the roof. Just look at the trading volume from CoinMarketCap:

Price also increased in 2 days from $0.15 to an average of $0.25, trading in the range of $0.20-$0.28. The main reason of the shift was a series of announcements on the official Twitter account of Ripple:

It turns out the announcement was about a new conference called Swell by Ripple. The market didn't react very well to the news, they expectations seem to be quite different. In fact, there were rumors about possible expansion of Ripple in China or Japan.

If you own Ripple coins (XRP), or you are considering trading XRP these days, be very careful. The extreme volatility of XRP could cause very rapid price changes.
