RE: Are we headed for a crypto bubble?

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

I only start to become worried, if moms and dads start investing in these ICO's (or pension funds). But we aren't there yet, I think, and the size of the ICO market is a small dot in the larger financial markets. A failure of a few ICO's will hardly constitute a 'systemic risk'.

Play hard, fall hard.

Those moms and dads are investing. Just not with their pension fund they're doing it with savings and unsecured debt. Would you rather keep your savings in the bank earning 1% or invest in a coin and earn 500% in a matter of days. It's not the size of the market which is the problem it's the size of the buyers investing in these coins. Systemic risk to the whole global economy definitely not. Systemic risk to the people that hold these coins the average, John and Jane Doe in the street definitely.

I am not sure whether 'mom and dad' are in this game already. Given the state of the market, if they just hold on long enough, they may come out with profits anyway. We still seem to be in a market in which all boats are lifted, tiny as the cryptocurrency market still is.
