I trade primarily in EUROS on gdax. This does not use USDT for me. How does this work, is it essentially a fiat balance with gdax that they owe me? Are there other exchanges which do not use Tether?
I believe there are a total of 10 exchanges listed on coinmarketcap that pair BTC and tether. Those account for about 13% of BTC trade volume reported to that site.
