What's up with Ripple

For the past 2 weeks Ripple has been steady between .28 to .33 cents. Alot of other currencies have skyrocket in the past few weeks but Ripple has been a few cents here and there. Stellar as of today is .045 cents and still climbing. So why hasn't ripple excel in the past few weeks while others have? Is it possible Stellar could past Ripple at this rate? I understand ripple is mostly used by banks while Stellar is for the common folks but what's not to say banks won't create its own block-chain or invest into a different company? I have a few Ripple stored away in hopes that it will "Go to the moon" and will continue to hold until it drops below what I paid for or some catastrophic news comes out.
