PewDiePie finally calls out BitConnect, which was and still is one of the biggest scams of all time!

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

Well, it finally happened... the biggest YouTuber of all time, calls out the biggest cryptocurrency scam of all time!

This video should net us all the attention we need going forward, so that all the scammers involved in the BitConnect Ponzi scheme, including Trevon James, Craig Grant, CryptoNick, Ryan Hildreth, Carlos Matos, Glenn Arcaro, and so many more, will never be able to run from the scam they so lavishly benefited from.

They are responsible for people losing millions of dollars collectively, while they cashed out immediately off the backs of the poor, dumb, and ignorant via their referral commissions, which were intentionally designed to be withdrawn immediately, in order to fuel the greed of all the bad actors who participated in the promotion of BitConnect.

I know PewDiePie may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I implore you to watch his video anyway, and to spread the message even further afterwards by liking it, commenting on it, and sharing it with the wide world, so that we may never forget the atrocity that was, and still is (BitConnectX)... BitConneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeect!

I love that he admits he is late to the meme party.

Ha ha, I thought that was a great touch too, but could you imagine how many memes a day this guy is inboxed?

Bitconnect and Davor are dead. Unfortunately there are others and will always be.
Many have lost not just money, but hopes, dreams and even friends. I know of a few people who want nothing to do with ANY cryptocurrencies, and won’t talk to each other because what they experienced in Davor.
People tend to find others to blame but refuse to look at themselves and learn.

BitConnect and Davor, the ultimate 1-2 punch team.

The next big scam on the horizon is Lendex, which I've already been reporting on, so hopefully people have been doing their research, and have come across some of my posts.

@tolkatore,, have you heard about the one they call "usiTech"?

yeah i also heard about Davorcoin too?

is that dead also?

DavorCoin went from like the high 100's to like 5 cents in a matter of weeks, so I'd say it was dead. USI Tech is pretty much dead too, because they stopped paying out... all scams!

wow. and there were whatsapp, telegram and even facebook groups with members promoting this shit. i'll go check them out so i'll see how members are faring or what new venture they are into

Most likely Lendex, it's the next big shitcoin lending platform.

It would be best thing ever if someone actually makes Brofist Coins

Well... you now know your calling. 😉

If he has made this video now, then he is very late to the party and infact he admits that in the video.

Those who had invested in the bitconnect had lost their money the very moment they decided to trust some 17 year old's. Seriously who takes advice from some 17 year old's who have not even stepped out of their homes properly other than for a prom night.

Ha ha, advice from a 17 year old... that just sounds funny!

I'm sorry, I could not stomach the entire video. I've heard enough of Carlos.

Ha ha, good old Carlos... the living meme!

I derive no pleasure in telling someone “I told you so” after they crashed and burned. But learning is expensive and if you don’t learn from others then you are doomed to learn from experience.

My hope, is that due to BitConnect's abrupt exit, and a super painful one to boot, that the internet will be filled with enough information to hopefully prevent such a thing from happening in the future... well something of this magnitude anyways.

Agree!
Unfortunately the damage is great and it extends beyond those whom lost money in Bitconnect. This will shape political responses to regulation, it will impact people’s interest in the entire crypto space (at least for a while) and it might just inspire copycats.
The positive is that in the long run all publicity is good publicity. Once the pain is forgotten, FOMO will bring more people back and new players as well.

Let us just hope that the new players in the space will have enough material to study that us old timers have left behind for them, in order to educate them on what is or isn't possibly a scam.

High Yield Lending (HYL) schemes have been around for centuries and have always been scams. It pays to look outside cryptos and see a bigger picture before trusting everything you see on a whitepaper.
Also, these “trading bots” that are supposed to generate huge returns just don’t exist. If they did, the owners would not need you to invest.

Old timer indeed

Ha ha, yes my fellow old timer, it is true.

Why invite others into the party, when you could just benefit from all the earnings yourself, which is the first question you should always ask yourself before jumping into something so stupid.

yeah. personally, I have been very skeptical about that bitconnect. but honestly, you wouldn't blame victims that fell for that shit. I think those that are to blame are the promoters.

itConnect Ponzi scheme, including Trevon James, Craig Grant,

Especially Trevon James. The number of followers that guy controls, it amazes me. from YouTube follows to other platforms.
imagine preaching to ten of his followers and then he commissions those followers into the world, trust me, 1 of those ten will come with another ten.

How right you are, and the guy is still fucking at it... he truly has no soul.

I think he was barred on steemit before, but so surprised to see his account here again.

Folks like Trevon James, I wish to have NO dealings whatsoever with them.

He's creating fake accounts in order to game the system, but now he just delegated his Steem power to some cheat bot in order to rape the rewards pool without doing any work.

that guy is such a trickster and a devorer in every sense.

Jeez. it beats me what such individuals would gain ultimately from hurting others

All greed, and no regard for others... that's how these fools prosper.

My network just would not allow me to watch the video.
Human Beings will never learn.
Last Year saw a great rise in Ponzi Scheme, and a lot of people lost what they had to those schemes.
A friend also introduced me to Bitconnect stating that it had its own alt coin, but when i did a careful research about it, I eventually ignored the whole thing.

My heart goes out to all those who lost to the scheme

I can't even imagine what all them folks feel like who lost thousands of dollars, and they must of felt so hopeless once BitConnect started going under.

I young plumber I know put about $30,000 in Davor, practically all he had. He got all his friends in it and milked the referrals. At some point he had $780,000 on the platform and felt like the king of the world.
He stayed in it to the bitter end and lost it all.

Lesson 1 - Take money of the table. If still want to play, play with "the house money"
Lesson 2 - Don't put all your eggs in one basket
Lesson 3 - Bitconnect exploded. It was there in plain sight. Get the F&@*K out of Davor

I could go on and on, but what's the point.

Lesson 3 - Bitconnect exploded. It was there in plain sight. Get the F&@*K out of Davor

I'm surprised so many people missed this one.

yeah. Lots of people lost in Bitconnect, a lot of people might still have faith to try out something else and some others might have given up entirely on cryptocurrency.

I think i read a comment here sometime that those who were defrauded courtesy bitconnect should upload a video on d-tube and they could get some level of compensation from it. i dont know how true it is tho

I'm not sure about the DTube video, but I do know that as long as we spread the word, all we can do is try to prevent others from being suckered into such scams going forward.

i mean i dont really like that people make a meme out of this. it's not really something that should be joked about imo.

I agree my friend, but sometimes laughter is the only way to reach people, so in this case... any publicity is good publicity in my honest opinion.

as long as it does not hurt us in the long run (forced regulations etc) because of these issues/scams.

Regulation is inevitable, and maybe these mega scams just helped it arrive sooner is all.

I agree regulations will come no matter what.

however, if regulations get implemented in a wrong way the crypto community won't take it well (i know I won't) I like crypto because we don't have the strict rules like the stock market have.

let's hope it does not ruin crypto ^^

It won't, because there's too much money to be had.

true. and especially with the tokens/coins that is integrated into businesses (like COSS Steemit) those type of coins will continue to grow IMO.

so hopefully we will be alright :)

I 100% agree, and believe that Steemit, which actually has value will most definitely survive and thrive through it all.

The memes are the best thing to come out of Bitconnect,

I wonder how long these class action law suits will take, and whether any of the promoter funds are clawed back from these guys

They will all most likely be fined for damages, so they will most likely use their ill-gotten gains to pay back the victims.

I hope so, Bernie just posted on reddit about how trevon has over $1m in his steemit wallet.

I’m really surprised these people haven’t been physically attacked, they have flaunted massive wealth online. Surely they are a prime target for theft/kidnapping.

Only time will tell, and I am really hopeful that through all this pain and suffering, lessons have been forever learned.

Bitconnect made it main stream. Congrats @craig-grant @trevonjb and @carlosmatos for making it to the biggest channel on youtube. Now you can't hide it from your kids children's when they are older they too will know of your scam and how you made your millions.
