XLM (Stellar Lumens) Better Pick Than XRP? - Quick Facts

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

Ripple and Stellar Lumens were founded by the same developer, Jed McCaleb. Yes the Infamous Mt.Gox Jed McCaleb.

Stellar was the the result of a Ripple Fork back in may of 2014 based off the ripple platform and first announced by Stripe.

Stellar is a non-profit organization focused on reducing international fund sending costs. their project has gained popularity in many developing countries and provided many startups such as Praekelt Foundation, the ability to substantially lower the fee's of their transfers. The Praekelt Foundation is an open-source messaging system for young women to save money in air-time credits.

Ryan Fuggar (Concept Originator) of Ripple alongside Jed both had a similar vision for Ripple, something designed for the 'people'. Ripple took a different route which clearly was discouraging for Jed and Fuggar. So with Lumens you can think of it as the project thats expanding on the original vision for Ripple.

Stellar Lumens just had a huge week with the announcement of it's IBM deal, it's been said that its timing that just so happen to come during the swell conference has had alot to do with Ripples poor results this week.

"Why did IBM choose Stellar over Ripple"? This question is popping up alot, and I believe it has alot to do with how XLM and XRP wish to operate. XRP seems to be trying to tackle bank-to-bank transfers whereas Stellar seems to direct itself towards consumer-to-consumer or company-to-company relations which seems more beneficial and appealing for a bank, at the end of the day a banks clients are their main asset.

XRP still holds alot of conspiracy this week as 'bland' news might've been intentional for banks to get into XRP at lower prices.

I don't believe Stellar will be getting anymore big deals like the one with IBM but its definitely gonna hold its value and see gradual increases through Q4 and into 2018. If we take a look at the chart below, its clear that XLMs growth this month has been more that substantial and validated a support low at around 350B-400B MCAP, if this continues we may see Lumen break a 1B MCAP by Q1 next year.

The post suggests me to buy more XLM. Thanks for the idea. I will definitely buy some.

Is it still a good buy?

Reports are that the IBM deal will initially use XLM as the exchange currency. However, eventually each bank/ institution that signs up will create their own currency or coin for transactions. I'm bullish on Lumens until mid 2018.

If every bank creates its own coin, what will be the universal currency across banks? I think we have to look at the protocol instead of looking at the coin.

Interesting! thanks for sharing, that's a good plan im on the same boat!

Hi @theinvestornb there! I just upvoted you!

Good post. I bought some Stellar Lumens this week. It’s good to buy an alt coin with a healthy moral agenda.

Thank you. Same here, pockets full.
