Some people stick by the original BTC others prefer the new faster version BCC or alternate technologies like DASH, ETH and XMR but for fast food enthusiasts they will surely be filling their bags with newly minted Whoppercoins.

I've written many articles in the past few months discussing how cryptocurrency is starting to get out of hand. There are ICOs with little to no purpose being launched every day, week and month. Burger King in Russia is getting in on the action with their new cryptocurrency 'Whoppercoin.'

If the cryptocurrency community doesn't take notice soon and start thinning the herd, the entire market could be at risk of a systematic collapse. But then again, the saying 'let the market decide' is as good as any in determining the future of crypto and altcoins.

Things may go as far as being able to exchange Whoppercoins for Bitcoin and there may even be a value determined by markets beyond 1 Whopper per Whoppercoin. Stranger things have happened..

According to an article in NYMag entitled 'Burger King’s Whoppercoin Is the Only Cryptocurrency That Matters' the Whoppercoin is not only real but may also serve a purpose in the near future.

Whoppercoin is the new cryptocurrency of Burger King Russia, according to local news reports. It’s built on a simple principle that is universally understandable: Buy one Whopper, get one Whoppercoin. Finally, a way to satiate both your appetite and your need for rather useless virtual money!

Customers can obtain Whoppercoin by visiting a Burger King located in Russia; for every Whopper ordered, they’ll receive one Whoppercoin in their very own special cryptocurrency wallet. And although there’s no telling exactly what the exchange rate will be for the Whoppercoin, Coin Idol reports that customers of Burger King Russia will be soon able to use Whoppercoin to purchase their very own Whoppers.

Because the tokens will have a use case, the ability to exchange for Whoppers there is an underlying value to this new cryptocurrency and in my opinion this is a great example of getting in on the hype and using it to sell some flippin' burgers.

Does this surprise you that fast food chains are already beginning their own ICOs, does it remind you of the saying 'once your next door neighbor is telling you to buy it, its probably time to sell.'

This is the feeling I get when I read articles like this. I've stopped buying coins and have started to look for promising new platforms in cryptocurrency. Previous recommendations include LISK, OMG, ETH and NEO. These currencies are here to stay in my opinion and most of the rest are doomed to fail.
