Bombay Stock Exchange is Formed

Bombay Stock Exchange, the oldest stock exchange in Asia was formed on this day. It was started by a group of four Gujaratis and one Parsi under a Banyan tree in Mumbai's Town Hall. As the group grew, they finally moved to Dalal Street and became an official organization know as The Native Share and Stockbrokers Association.
