Talking about the Crypto-Revolution
over Chicken Wings and Drinks!

Three hours just flew by!

This last Friday I got to hangout with @Bitcoin-Ben a growing face in crypto marketing! I have to give a huge @JacobTs who had originally reached out to @Bitcoin-Ben, setup the meeting and invited me to join! I was so glad that he did! As we all know, it's often difficult to talk about crypto's with people, which made the Improv Comedy background they both share to quite an asset.

Putting things into a funny, entertaining light is a fantastic way to get across points and ideas that might seem scary or overwhelming otherwise. So often veterans in the crypto-sphere have a hard time discussing things without the crypto jargon or making things too technical. I found him to be a great entry point into crypto for those that have never been exposed. Hence his focus on other social media sites (outside Steemit) like Facebook, Twitter and Youtube.

However we DO have plans in the works to bring some of his content, work and/or thoughts here on to Steemit. We're still working out details, but keep an eye out for some announcements around this.

The Actual Meetup and Discussions!

One part of the discussion was that Bitcoin-Ben was being hired to be a part of the Litecoin marketing team! He told us how this ball got rolling by responding to a Charlie Lee tweet to get him on their radar. You can see some of the content Ben has made on his Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Just to give you taste of his content, this is one of his recent videos.

While I don't fault anybody for making decisions based around monetary gains...just listening to Ben for a while, it wasn't hard to believe that his goals went far beyond his personal bank account. Having his Libertarian roots...it made sense hearing his passion to expose as much of the world as possible to cryptocurrencies. He's truly passionate to see a "Crypto Revolution" to spread across the globe with the goal of removing people's dependence on centralized, government controlled money (like the US dollar, Euro, etc) and empowering every individual to find their own paths toward happiness and success.

We also got to expose Ben a bit more on the Smart Media Tokens that are slated to launch in the near future. It was only natural for the discussion to move in this direction especially with how they could empower businesses, groups and individuals alike.

A bit about @JacobTs...who set this all up!

If you haven't already been exposed to @JacobTs's content, it's definitely worth checking out. I met him in real life last July when we drove up to Kansas City for the Steemit meetup @Stellabelle had put together. Not only is he one of the nicest people I've met...he has a good deal of crypto knowledge as well as a long time background in Improv comedy.

He's been tirelessly trying to spread the word of Steemit (and crypto in general) here in St. Louis, his Improv Group and anywhere else he's able (doing facebook live at 7am most weekdays.) He's another breath of fresh air, being able to explain things in terms a layperson can easily understand!

So...why should I care?

I don't want to say too much here until be get the details worked out...but what I'm hoping to do is to start running regular shows targeted to people new to, or not in crypto at all. I personally know the power of things spreading by word of mouth. So this show would be aimed at people new to Steemit or not anywhere in the crypto-sphere yet. It would give not only some basics (in layperson English,) but also the potential cryptocurrency can provide to make the world a better place, empower individuals, etc.
