We're No Early Adopters - "We're The Lunatic Fringe!" 💬 || The Great Benefits Of Joining Steem Now
There's always a vision phase in a revolutionary new technology. Then reality sets in. Then comes the slow building of the technology to get products available to the early adopters. - Paul Borrill
People are given something along the adoption curve that sets their imagination alight; the earlier they join the wider the field to conquer.
Thanks to cryptocurrencies there is a massive mostly unseen tsunami of technological disruption forming at the moment: "The internet of money" how it is often called.
We are nowhere near the early adoption majority phase yet, because it's still really hard to use cryptocurrency. Yet, joining that movement before its mass adoption harbors extraordinary advantages.
Here's to the great benefits of being earlier than early adopters!

We're pioneers!
It's not only the possibility to say 'I was one of those' what makes early adoption so delightful.
Networks such as Steem provide their first members with the unique opportunity to actively participate in its design progress. Early adopters are those who have a considerable influence on the further development of the product. The bugs they discover and the potential they reveal is of extraordinary value.
We're more than beta testers.
Just think about these benefits of being an early Steem adopter:
- Investors: Buy in when the Steem price is still relatively low and secure an equity stake that will experience a considerable rise in value in the long run.
- Developers: Discover business ideas in the very beginnings, team up with the smartest members of the network before others do and build new apps on the blockchain during it's fast-growing period.
- Authors: Gain best visibility for your content within a still manageable amount of competitors, discover and conquer your niche and build up a solid brand right from the start.
- Curators: Discover and support potential influencers right from the start, build a profitable curation strategy and ensure the best ROI in the long term.
We don't swim with the tide, we are the tide :-)

The Lunatic Fringe
There is a missing piece here and it is within the 2.5% innovators slice. It is the lunatic fringe, the very first people to start using the new technology. The lunatic fringe is what gets the word out to the early adopters. The lunatics are ones that prove its use and can’t shut up about it (◕‿◕). - Leon Gaban (This is the early days of cryptocurrency)
That is us! Me writing this and you reading it. Right?
To be honest I accidentally became an early adopter of Steem.
Usually I'm not the typical person that really needs to be one of these lighthouse customers that camp in front of a mobile technology store in order to immediately purchase a new smartphone version after its release.
In one of my last blog posts I confessed that I'm still using my iPhone 5 and actually don't have any problem in doing so.
Guess when I discovered the brandnew Instagram feature called Boomerang? Today! Haha - I told you: before joining Steem I was a technological dinosaur in all ranks.
@surfermarly discovering Boomerang - welcome to the 21st century, Marly! :-)
Early adopters have many faces
Just look around you!
Crypto people don't fit into any scheme, we're as diverse as humanity itself.
There are business men, entrepreneurs, investors, then we have creative people, artists, designers, filmmakers, also influencers, former youtubers, communicators, as well as developers, miners, programmers, and then we have anarchists, freedom fighters, anti-government people that even blog post from being in jail (to be honest that group scares me a bit sometimes :-))
The list could be endless.
No matter who we are or where we come from, we've got one thing in common: we're all here!
And in a couple of years we'll tell them:
It was fun seeing the early adopters arriving then...:-)
Happy steeming!
Marly -
Thanks for your valuable time!

Me? A lunatic?
Nooooooooo
That's absurd!
end of sarcasm
Let's call each other names :-D
But there are no names left to use, surferbarley. :)
Oh that's right, I completely forgot about that! :-)
Hahahaha😂😂🤣🤣
It actually took me a while to understand this!
I think i love the lunatics club!
LOL!
And our slogan should be
"We bring tomorrow to today!"
What do you think @nonameslefttouse
😂😂
"We bring today, tomorrow!"
Said the procrastinator.
Hahahha😂🤣
You're good!
Ya good!
Same here! Exactly the same!
I've never been an early adopter anywhere. I had an iPhone 4 until a year ago (I went straight to 6, though :)) and I take ages to update the software on it. Why change something as long as it works well, right? ;)
And you know when I first heard of the Boomerang app?? Just now. From you! LOL
Isn't it weird that we've become sudden Lunatics with this whole crypto and blockchain thing, though? Why is that??
The only answer I have for that is that our inner guidance system goes into resonance so deeply with it, that all sensors go off DingDingDingDingDing - this is it!
I have never trusted anything as much as this, simply because it doesn't come from reason, but from intuition this time.
Here's to being a lunatic!! :D
I wouldn't have changed to the iPhone 5 back in 2014 if they hadn't stolen my iPhone 4 :-) It was the first and last time someone took the phone out of my bag while I was dancing in a club. Pretty negative experience, even though I got a new phone then.
Haha! I had seen these funny animations on Instagram but didn't know that it was an integrated feature. So today I accidentally stumbled upon it - the results are on the blockchain now :-)
I think the fascination for crypto is triggered by a couple of things such as:
Wholeheartedly! :-)
I believe it will change everything :)
If you've not see this yet, it's highly worth watching (instead of a movie some evening :)). He doesn't mention the word blockchain or crypto or whatever, he just talks about the "digital revolution". All of what he says resonates deeply with me.
Hahahaha :D A big shout out to all my fellow lunatics!
:-)
Welcome to the near era! To be honest, I am not quite sure where the cryptocurrencies gonna bring the world to. Is it a good thing or a bad one, only the time will show! :)
I never used boomerang, stories, etc by the way, but I don't consider myself to be a dinosaur though( not until this moment anyway)! :)
If I just started to learn other cryptos like a month ago have I achieved a Pterodactyls or Tyrannosaurus ranking yet? :) Have an inspiring week, crypto warrior Marly!
Haha, you're definitely one of the hipster dinosaurs then :-D
Thanks for your wishes! Enjoy your week, too, Luke!
The Lunatic Fringe sounds like a great punk rock band name.
Oldie
I know you're out there!!!!
LOL - cryptopunks though :-)
The lunatic fringe, lol! Were actually very sane; I think. We believe in free exchange of ideas on a decentralized system that doesn't censor ideas. The platform can have applications and functionality built on top of it. We can create economy that benefits everyone. This technology can usher in brighter future. If that is crazy, we're lunatic's then.:p
Well I believe that creating our own money is insane from a conservative point of view :-) Maybe we've spent so much time here that we don't see that anymore. Here's an example for you:
My tax consultant needed one hour to understand that the coins are just generated by themselves, haha. "No invoicing practice though... mmmh." It took him a while, lol
Very happy to be part of that "lunatic fringe" @surfermarly; seems there is almost infinite potential for this technology and approach to money.
In a sense, it is quite similar to the earliest days of the Internet where some of us were thought "just weird" for being part of something that was just for "hardcore nerds and universities." That was just a little more than 20 years ago, and who doesn't have Internet now?
Nicely said! When the internet became popular most people said it was the channel of arms dealers. Same is happening with cryptocurrencies now which are supposed to be drug dealers' money.
Reminds me of that one here:
Great post - lovr from a fellow luny! its so much fun being a luny - liek the lunatics that bought bitcoin in 2009!!!
Thank you!
Haha, luny... That's sweet :-)
A popular man in my country Nigeria did call people who dabble in this new world of crypto - the internet of money - gamblers.
LOL - i laugh at him, he doesn't see the potentials yet! Sometimes it still hurt me i didn't invest in Bitcoin!
We are the tide! We are revolutionizing the world!
In short, we are more than a tide, We are a tsunami! And we'll sweep them off their feet!
Well said :-)
Gamblers... ha! They should look at our wallets.
Hehehehe!
When they do, they'll immediately love "gambling"😂😂🤣🤣
When I joined Instagram I thought I should have joined 2 years before. Now with Steemit I think I've joined at just the right time. I'm looking forward to its future!
Thanks for keeping my excitement at a high level with your post!
You're definitely not too late in this case :-)
Thanks for your kind words and Steem on!
