Bitfinex , one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, has added Stellar Lumens and Verge to its list of supported currencies . This adds to the recent news of new fiat money pairs, including the British pound and the Japanese yen.

Bitfinex now supports 56 cryptocurrencies , which can be exchanged for USD and BTC. Last month they introduced trading for 12 new tokens from Ethereum, which have a combined market capitalization of more than $ 1,100 million. Stellar and Verge have market caps of $ 8 billion and $ 1.1 billion respectively. Bitfinex is currently the sixth stock exchange with a trading volume of 24 hours of 1 trillion dollars.

Verge is a Bitcoin fork designed for daily payments. It was created in 2014 under the name of DogeCoinDark . It is promoted as a privacy currency due to the Wraith protocol , which allows users to switch between private and public ledgers . When Wraith is used, the transaction data is not available through the blockchain browser.

On April 14, Verge announced an alliance with Mindgeek , owner of Pornhub and other adult entertainment sites. This was revealed two weeks after they launched a four-day crowdfund which was mostly done by TokenPay , Verge partners. While the announcement was being made, the price increased by 150%, and currently stands at $ 0.08.

On March 29, Bitfinex added new fiat pairs that include support for British Pounds (GBP) and Japanese Yen (JPY). The Japanese market is important since the Japanese yen represents 55% of the world trade in bitcoins , according to Coinhills. On the other hand, the trading volume in GBP amounts to less than 1% of the global market.

Jean-Louis van der Velde , CEO of Bitfinex, said: "We are very happy to add to our selection fiat (negotiation) offers and contribute our grain of sand making cryptocurrencies more accessible globally. We are making a great effort to improve transparency and regulatory collaboration around the world, and our ability to incorporate support for these markets is a great victory on that front. "

Bitfinex also announced support for Tron (TRX) migration to its MainNet in June. Withdrawals and deposits will be affected between June 21 and 26. The trade, however, will not be affected.

Bitfinex uses a multifaceted method to decide which cryptocurrency to add. Take into account user requests, shareholder interest, market capitalization, token design parameters and your own cryptocurrency evaluation. This includes investigating the team behind the coin and its ability to solve technical and non-technical problems.
