RE: Forecasts for the XRP price at the end of 2018.

Solid write-up about the potential of Ripple.

I think it is an interesting project, and one that will get a lot of people into crypto, especially if they can capture a significant portion of cross-border payments markets. The links it has created with top financial institutions are impressive.

I still dont like the fact it leans towards centralization - there is an article I read just today on that theme actually , and I would be interested to know your thoughts on this!

I personally think $8-10 by years end is a little on the high side, but $5 might be in play, considering the heights it already hit. As you say, this requires a strong bull market to take over again.

I imagine Stellar will eat a little bit of Ripple's cake, as now it is not the only game in town...

I think it is a tendentious article. I say XRP is semi-centralized. You will not find this term in many discussions about XRP. In fact, their Ledger registry is open source. The fact that Ripple still holds most of the coins is perfectly logical. It could not be otherwise if it deals with cross-border transfers. It's hard to explain, but the Ripple team is brilliant. They thought of a perfect ecosystem for a buffer currency. As for the percentage of coins owned by several creators, it is the same as for other currencies. All coins provide around 20% of the total coins issued to creators. See Bitcoin and many other coins.

Ripple gets a lot of hate, perhaps because it is aligning itself with big financial institutions rather than fighting to take them on and replace them.

Back in 2016 I put about $30 into XRP because I had a little left over from a trade on Poloniex, and its been the best $30 I ever spent considering returns! I now wish I had put some actual money behind it , because I could've retired!

ROI, earned on XRP in 2017, are the best on the Crypto Market. Unfortunately, some people are blinded by the preconceptions that Ripple is working with banks. Those who manage to get over it will find a solid project with a quality team. They are one step away from using XRP in cross-border payments.

Yes you’re right and I dislike the argument, Ripple has potential to save banks money, therefore it has inherent intrinsic value and that is the logic for investing in it!
