UPDATE: SEC Chairman Jay Clayton - Cryptocurrency and Bitcoin - Good or Bad outlook?

Wow, its amazing how Mr. Clayton dodged all the important questions on a multitude of different questions by CNBC anchor . He basically is very excited about distributed ledger technology and he went on to say that it can drive efficiencies in financial markets and many other markets. He also confirmed that most ICO's are securities and went on to say that they will not be changing the definition of a security just to suit the ICO community.
Mr. Clayton was asked the direct question... is Ethereum or Ripple a security and he did not want to comment on that question at all but eluded to Bitcoin not being a security.
I strongly believe that the SEC is trying to catch up to all of the crypto assets and has hired a so called "crypto czar," named Valerie and she is working to coordinate an enforcement division, investment management division and a trading division so I believe steps are being made in the right direction for the betterment of the crypto community.
