What Is Crypto Mining?

Hello and thank you for checking out my first post on Steemit. I am a Crypto Miner and have noticed that some people that have been mining for a while still don't really know how it works. Though I am relatively new to Crypto, I want to share what I know about the process and ask anyone that can elaborate to comment below to help.

All Cryptocurrencies are based on the technology known as the Blockchain. On the Blockchain every transaction that has ever been performed is documented and validated by the other users on the network. Due to it requiring verification from the block crypto has its own built in security measures to help protect everyone from hackers.
