Lesson 1: Price | Raiblocks, IOTA and Byteball | Which is cheaper? And Why people do not look at what they invest?
The main characteristic that these three cryptocurrences have in common is that they use the DAG (Directed Acyclic Graph) technology, in this opportunity I want to take this case to demonstrate a very important point, people are only guided by the price of a currency and not they worry about reviewing their specifications, how many coins are in circulation or what is the amount of total coins that will be marketed.
Raiblocks
Let's start with Raiblocks (XRB) today it is located in position number 20 with a market capital of about $ 2,636,144,179, it has currently outstanding 133,248,289 XRB of its maximum number of coins that are 133,248,290 XRB. By dividing the market capital with its total amount we get a price of about $ 19.78 USD. As an additional and no less important fact that will allow us to understand this concept is the following, in how many units can be divided the currency, the smallest unit of Raiblock's is called raw (the same as a satoshi for bitcoin) while a 1 Gxrb is the largest unit
IOTA
Let's continue with Iota (MIOTA) today Iota is located on the 10th position of the crypts with a market capital of about $ 9,268,093,571 and with the amount of coins in circulation equal to its maximum supply of 2,779,530,283 MIOTA, which averaged an amount by MIOTA of about $ 3.33. Iota is subdivided as follows:
The exchanges are used to trade the MIota unit.
Byteball
Finally Byteball (GBYTE) is located at position number 62 of coinmarketcap.com, with a market capitalization of about $ 530,633,842, with an outstanding volume of about 645,222 GBYTE and a total supply of 1,000,000 GBYTE, for a value average of $ 822.41. Byteball is divided as follows: the smallest unit is 1 Bytes and the maximum unit is GB or GBYTE which equals 1 billion bytes, the total money supply in gigabytes is 1,000,000. for a total supply of 10 ^ 15 Bytes.
After analyzing this factor for each crypto a question arises which is cheaper, as we can see both Raiblocks and Iota use the same unit (M) to be listed in the exchanges but Byteball uses a higher unit (G), if we do an exercise and We take the 3 crypts to the same unit, let's say (G)
1 GIota = ($ 9,268,093,571 / 2,779,530,283) = $ 3,334.41
1 Gxrb = ($ 2,636,144,179 / 133,248,290) = $ 19,783.69
1 GBYTE = $ 822.41
The same exercise can be done in an inverse manner where
1 XRB = $ 19.78
1 MIota = $ 3.33
1 MBytes = ($ 530,633,842 / 645,222,000 MBytes) = $ 0.822
Now we see how things change, this exercise serves to demonstrate a point most people do not look at the characteristics of a currency, as are their total or outstanding supply and also has the false feeling that buying a currency with low price will result in greater benefits, similar to what happens now with Bitcoin. The important thing when determining whether a currency can increase its value is first, that it is a good technology that offers a solution to a problem and is not another currency offering what others already do. In addition, the market capitalization will tell us how much this can grow and the amount of coins will tell us how the price may fluctuate in the future.
In this example I do not want to make a comparison of these three projects, in my personal opinion the three are great projects, Iota looks promising but still has much to do, Raiblocks can be the solution to what most of the people need to send and receive money instantly and Byteball comes to do a complete crypto at all levels almost instantaneous transactions with low rates, smart contracts and anonymity one of the most complete projects nowadays.
I hope that my article has helped you in some way. Greetings.
EDIT: Thanks to @loycev, the paragraph where was added the information of the existing GB quantity was corrected so that the number of bytes made sense. "The smallest unit is 1 Bytes and the maximum unit is GB or GBYTE which equals 1 billion bytes, the total money supply in gigabytes is 1,000,000. for a total supply of 10 ^ 15 Bytes."
Great content as always, thanks for sharing! One of the best real world uses for Crypto at the moment with great potential. Makes up a major part of my portfolio! cheers mate
hello @lollobrown thank you for commenting exactly what Crypto you mean? I have XRB and BB.
I do not really decide of Iota, I would like to see a few development.
Please correct this: 1 billion bytes is 10 ^ 9 Bytes, not 10^15.
Hi @loycev thank you for you comment i correct the problem was i do not add in the paragraph the amount of GB will exist that is 1.000.000 that when multiplying it by 1 billion bytes per GB we get 10
