Veritaseum is hacked!!

Veritaseum has affirmed that a programmer stole $8.7 million from the stage's ICO on Sunday, July 23. This is the second ICO hack in the most recent week and the fourth hack of an Ethereum stage this month.

An ICO (Initial Coin Offering) is like an exemplary IPO (Initial Public Offering), yet rather than stocks in an organization, purchasers get tokens in an online stage. Programmer stole VERI tokens, sold them for Ethereum

Veritaseum's organizer Reggie Middleton saw the hack and posted points of interest on the stage's Slack channel, from where news spread to the BitcoinTalk discussions.

Middleton said that a programmer had some way or another figured out how to take VERI tokens amid the ICO. Since the ICO was continuous and the tokens were popular, the programmer instantly sold them to different purchasers.

Middleton posted online today, the Veritaseum CEO said: "the sum stolen was (under 00.07%) in spite of the fact that the dollar sum was very material."

Middleton appraises the programmer or hacker(s) made $8.7 million worth of Ethereum in the wake of offering the VERI tokens. The assets were at first dumped in two Ethereum wallets, yet they have now been siphoned away into different records as the programmer continued to wash his income. The stolen tokens had a place with Veritaseum, and no client endured any budgetary misfortunes.

Fourth hack this month

A week ago, another programmer stole over $7 million in Ethereum reserves from the CoinDash ICO after he assumed control over their site and changed the Ethereum address at which clients should send cash to purchase their CoinDash tokens.

Likewise a week ago, another programmer utilized a weakness in the Parity multi-sig Ethereum wallet to take over $30 million worth of Ethereum from clients using multi-sig wallets made with Parity.

Toward the begin of the month, a programmer took control over the web space of Classic Ether Wallet and gathered the login qualifications from various clients, exhausting their records en route.
