Retailers Accepting STEEM in Brisbane, Australia - TravelbyBit
Crypto-currency Retailers accepting STEEM
More and more retailers across the inner-city suburb of Fortitude Valley in Brisbane, Australia are accepting payments for goods and services with cryptocurrencies. Dash, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and STEEM are being accepted at a variety of stores as retailers in the trendy suburb acknowledge that cryptocurrencies are easy to use and have virtually no transaction fees.
This featured on the local news tonight here in Australia:

How are they doing this?
A local company called TravelbyBit Australia are opening up a series of merchants across Australia that accept payment in a number of cryptocurrencies including STEEM.
Their vision is as follows:
We believe that one aspect of Bitcoin that holds back its full potential is the public's perception that there is no practical use for the currency. Building our merchant network will lead to significant visibility among the community and will change this perception.
There are several initiatives now allowing Bitcoin payments through traditional debit cards. However, these use the traditional banking systems' Point of Sale terminals, and merchants and customers themselves aren't receiving much awareness about Bitcoin at all.
TravelbyBit payment system is fundamentally different. Our merchants facilitate genuine peer-to-peer transactions. Through the use of digital wallets travellers pay with their choice of digital currency, creating an awareness of Bitcoin amongst the merchants, their staff, and their customers.

Most merchants are currently centred in the inner-city Brisbane suburb of Fortitude Valley, but the company aims to expand rapidly to a variety of merchants as cryptocurrency becomes more readily accepted as a method of payment.
This innovative company seems to be ahead of the game when it comes to cryptocurrency and is leading the way here in Brisbane in facilitating the use of different cryptos to be used to pay for goods and services. I am really excited by the prospect that they have included STEEM as one of the crypto's that can be used for payment.

Mate, that is so awesome.
Hopefully this will be the norm in a few years.
It's going to be awesome when you can spend any coin/token anywhere you choose.
That is true financial freedom.
That's what you call STEEM going mainstream. Sitting alongside the big players.
Perth should get there in 2045 😉🤣
Lol! You only got Sunday retailing last year didn't you? 😁
@choogirl 2012
I know. I was taking the piss.
This is incredible, I hope this movement continues to pick up STEEM.
Wow!!! Sounds interesting. Brisbane is gonna be the Cryptocurrency Capital of the World.
It's also good to know that people, retailers have validated the use of the cryptos like fiat money. It's a good sign as far as the crypto world is concerned.
It's just a matter of time when other parts of the world will soon take same steps Australia has already taken.
Upvoted, facebooked and resteemed. We want to see more of this!
Through this, steem will be introduce to people from all walks of life in no time. To the moon!
Really excited about the movement!!!👏🏻 Hoping for a day where we can all travel by bit!😉
Yes yes, this is all very great, but can I buy dog treats with it yet? If so, may be worth a trip over to rainy Brisbane!
As someone living in Brisbane, this is exciting news and a big step forward for mainstream adoption. Once I earn some Steem I'll have some places to visit!
This is super exciting man, lets hope more and more continue to get on board. The changes are coming and I'm glad to see someone is thinking of steem, the future is looking bright.
