Vaporwave ICOs > Prospective ICOs. Unfortunately, this is the sad truth.

Unfortunately, the sad truth is that, despite being absolutely terrible projects, they do trade well and people seem to be blindly purchasing tokens. I have seen so many times how investors don't even read the whitepaper "because it is too long" and their acquisition is based on paid shills and good marketing .

I have seen many individuals not think realistically about the potential of certain projects. "They will disrupt an entire market" my ass! I believe a person must not dream about huge gains and realistically set price limits for his / her coins. For example, I do participate in quite a few ICOs by providing translations. Despite that, I barely imagine half of them actually being worth anything. Unfortunately, many are delusional and dream about dem lambos on tha moon.

It is sad to go over on https://bitcointalk.org/ and look at the Altcoins Announcement section. Some good projects, some not-so-good, others concealed scams and even straightforward scams. I am not sure how things will continue to evolve (or devolve) because it is so easy to start a scam project. I don't think you need more than a couple thousands to have a decent website and pay someone to write a good (but vaporwave) whitepaper for you. I could do it and you could probably do it too.

I have specifically begun writing articles about these scam projects in order to, I don't know, at least get some enjoyment from their existence. Projects like NeckCoin or Bitheum are absolutely unbelievable. And what is worse, the NeckCoin one has already raised $10,000 within a week from its ICO launch.

What is the solution? Writing articles and raising awareness does not guarantee a positive outcome. People uneducated regarding cryptocurrencies don't hang out on https://steemit.com, they check for Bounty Programs with the highest payout despite the projects future, they hunt airdrops and invest in whatever projects praise higher ROIs. I think I may have answered the question myself. Education is needed to teach people the good and the bad, the DOs and the DON'Ts. I wonder if this will ever be achieved.

Time for this rant to go away. Got more important things to worry about than some people losing money due to terrible hindsight.
