ATTENTION! Crypto is under attack by the American government (Bill S. 1241)
Hi fellow liberty-lovers and crypto enthousiasts,
A new bill was introduced by senator Diane Feinstein, which will make it virtually illegal to use cryptocurrency in the United States.
“(a) In general.—No person shall knowingly conceal, falsify, or misrepresent, or attempt to conceal, falsify, or misrepresent, from or to a financial institution, a material fact concerning the ownership or control of an account or assets held in an account with a financial institution.">
“(b) Penalties.—A person convicted of an offense under subsection (a), or a conspiracy to commit such offense, shall be imprisoned for not more than 10 years, fined not more than $1,000,000, or both.
This law will not only concern fiat currency, but also cryptocurrency.
If you care about freedom, you should try to kill this bill at all cost. If you're an American citizen, now is the time to act!
This bill is absolutely crazy:
SEC. 8. Freezing bank accounts of persons arrested for offenses involving the movement of money across international borders.
Yeah, that's right. Send bitcoin to your auntie in the old country and you'll get 5 years, matey.
SEC. 10. Technical amendment to restore wiretap authority for certain money laundering and counterfeiting offenses.
Suspected of using bitcoin? Great, now we have a justification to look at whatever you say!
SEC. 15. Obtaining foreign bank records from banks with United States correspondent accounts.
This entire section is terrifying and orwellian beyond what I can do justice, you'll need to read it.

The website is self-contained and fairly explanatory. Just select your state in the drop down, and you will be given two senators. Call both of them.
Tell them you want them to vote AGAINST S.1241. Tell them you like crytocurrency and this bill would make your life worse.

The US is the most evil government, no one else is trying to stop bitcoin, Japan has made it as a mode of payments in many areas, but no, The US government can't see us being free from banks, they want us to be chained to debt, this really pisses me off.
It's because the cronies have the government in their pockets. Power always corrupts, especially if the decision makers don't pay the price for being wrong...
They can't see us being free from the banks because the gov't is chained to the banks, like we are chained to government.
The banks have become government and that's why when they make bad bets - they strong arm the gov't into strong-arming us. We, the people, might as well just be a cow sucking its own tits to survive at this point.. It's a shame.

Your politicians are owned, they do not care about your say, they never have. When anonymity hits LTC, then BTC.. as is and better than Monero, et, al., then it will not have much effect for all those with it offline. The new folks buying new will be more at risk (this is a personal opinion).
It won't be very anonymous when you can't really do business with it IRL, unless you pay taxes on top of it. The whole idea of crypto was to take out the middlemen and give people the power over their own money back.
Yes, now see this is where some folks may be making an error in judgement... they work with cryptos in a personal way... worst tax liabilities as well as exposure (always has been). If you work them out of a corporate structure, you have far more options and far less liability. And if the Trump Tax plan gets approved, a decent likely hood, then corporate tax rates will improve.
People in the Cryptos must get educated in old world business methods (the way the governments always and will always work), to protect their wealth as it grows.
It's only going to be a matter of time. If it doesn't happen this year or ten years from now an executive order will eventually be signed under the patriot act to fight terrorism. I'm still calling my senator, but it's not if it's going to happen it's when.
Yeah, this was going to happen sooner or later, letting know this bill is unpopular is the least we can do.
