Kodak launched their own crypto coin for photographers, 'Kodakcoin' and the platform named as 'Kodakone' which will help photographers protect their creative endeavors.

The purpose of the coin is said to be an empowering platform for photographers and agencies to take greater control in image rights management. It is said that this platform will help photographers as it can be used to register and license both old and new works. This digi currency is meant for photographers to sell work on a secure platform and receive payments.

Is this for publicity?

The answer is 'might be, yes' because the exact purpose and how this blockchain will help in the company's goals are unclear. So the company might be even focusing on media attention.
