- Head to https://metamask.io/
- Depending on the browser you are using, select the appropriate link to install the plugin (I recommend Firefox or Brave)
- Open up MetaMask by clicking the fox icon on your browser, usually near the top right
- You will receive a notice saying that MetaMask is beta software,click "Accept"
- Next you'll need to scroll to the bottom of the TOS then click "Accept"
- Now you will be asked to create a password. Make sure you choose a secure password that has not been used elsewhere. Don't forget this password, it is required to access your money within the wallet, and it is NOT recoverable.
- The next screen will show you a phrase of 12 words. Write down these words in a SAFE place, these are also required to access your money.
- Once you're done saving the phrase, click "I've copied it somewhere safe"
- Congratulations, you've set up your MetaMask wallet! Now we just need to add some Ether.
- To access your address, click the (...) button in the top right, and click "Copy Address To Clipboard".
- You can now paste this address into your exchange or other wallet, and fund it with ETH
- Keep in mind this is whats known as a "hot" wallet, don't send more ETH than you intend to use in the near future.

to answer your query @wesakab Meta mask is going to be a bridge for DEX in future .. Basically it stores your private keys for any ETH address example my ether wallet and then without exposing your keys again and again .. Meta mask sings transaction on your behalf ..
Looks somehow like below on any DEX .. in below screenshot I have showen example of EtherDelta.
