Steemit User Crypto Security Survey

in #cryptocurrency8 years ago

Like many people who hold a little crypto, I have recently become increasingly concerned about security as prices have continued to go through the proverbial roof. It can be a little confusing to see the variety of storage methods available,
for example:
on an online exchange
in an online wallet
in a paper wallet
in a USB or similar device
other (please describe)

So how do you keep your various altcoins safe? I wa thinking that it might be interesting for users to share their views and opinions on storing altcoins, based upon their experiences. Hopefully after a while there will be enough feedback to compile some kind of results that can show the relative popularity of different storage media and also the pros and cons associated with each one. This could potentially be of use and interest for people who are getting into altcoins. I'm particularly interested in the trade-off between security and ease-of-use (if there is one). This could yield some interesting information, so please share some of your wisdom in the comments below if you have any crypto of your own.

Thanks.

I would recommend having big amounts save in a wallet. Small amounts you can keep on exchanges. But there is alway a risk attached to it.
Hardware wallets are the best (but for sure for bigger amounts).
