TheKey (TKY) partners with Alipay/Ant Financials, China Unicom, Ping'an Bank, China RE, Uniscom, Minsheng Bank and more
I wrote about TheKey (TKY) before and how I think it's a great investment, but today I've got even more reasons for thinking that: TheKey updated their FAQ and it now lists many more partnerships than it did before, and huge ones at that!
NEW PARTNERSHIPS
While I could not find any official announcement, a user on Reddit pointed out that the TheKey FAQ has been updated with new information, namely major partnerships with major Chinese corporations. A couple of weeks ago I already posted about their partnership with Chinese multi-billion companies Unicom, a major Chinese telecom provider, and Tsinghua Unigroup, which is China's largest chip manufacturer. But today many more names can be added to the list of partnerships. According to the FAQ, TheKey has signed commercial contracts with Alipay, Ant Financials, China Unicom, Ping’an Bank, China RE, Uniscom, Minsheng Bank, and more. Interestingly Tsinghua Unigroup is missing from that list, but I assume we can add them to it just the same.
The names on that list are impressive. Perhaps to most westerners these names will not ring a bell, except for Alipay/Ant Financial, which is the most valuable fintech company in the world. The others on the list are major as well, for example Ping'an Bank which is a part of Ping'an Insurance, and is worth $2.5 billion USD. China RE is an insurance company, which originated from The People’s Insurance Company of China, the first insurance company in the PRC and although I couldn't find the company's worth, they have 23K employees and I believe they are probably a big player in China seeing as where they came from.
Uniscom, not to be confused with Unicom, seems to be a manufacturer or consumer products - I could not find a company website, but did find a lot of products for sale on Alibaba. Minsheng Bank I did find information on, in particular that it was the first non-governmental bank in China and most notably that their total asset worth is about $650 billion USD.
And of course as reported earlier, China Unicom which is a $350 billion USD company, and Tsinghua Unigroup which is another multi-billion dollar company.
With these partnerships I feel safe and secure in saying that TheKey has by far the best and most valuable actual partnerships out of any cryptocurrency project that I've researched, except maybe for Ethereum. But Ethereum's partnerships are not usually signed commercial contracts, and rather experimental in nature.
THEKEY
I've raved on about this project before, and if you haven't looked into this yet you seriously should. I'm incredibly bullish on this. TheKey is essentially a digital identity blockchain, much like Civic, except better in several ways. Besides the major partnerships listed above, TheKey is _already being implemented in 40+ Chinese cities, covering more than 130 million (!) people. There is already personal data of 210 million people connected to the TheKey database. In two Chinese pilot cities, TheKey is actually live and tested right now. This train is leaving and China is already implementing this. For most projects adoption is a big question, but I have no concerns regarding this for TheKey. Both government and corporations are onboard.
Better yet, the icing on the cake for this project is it's CEO Catherine (Xueli) Li who has won the award "The Most Outstanding Women Entrepreneur in China of the Year (All-China Women’s Federation, 2017).To me, this project has it all:
- Digital identity is a widely recognized 'perfect use-case' for crypto
- Major partnerships worth several trillion dollars combined
- Gets big thumbs up by the Chinese government
- Implementation covering 130 million people underway
- Award-winning CEO
On top of that, it is being built on the NEO blockchain which has digital identity as one of it's three foundational pillars. As such, I believe that TheKey is going to play an important role in the NEO ecosystem.
If you're not convinced yet, take some time to watch this video interview of Catherine (Xueli) Li, to get a better grasp of the project:
2018 is the year of NEO and nep5 tokens
