BAT token, Brave browser, and Bitwarden
Basic Attention Token, or BAT, is a revolutionary model to monetize the value of attention, giving great benefit to the online content publishers, advertisers, and content consumers. It surely will bring a great change to the content and advertising industry in the future.
I wish I could write another post to talk about this crypto project. But in this post, let's take a look at the browser developed for the BAT project.
Yes, it is the Brave browser.
Firstly, this browser blocks all advertisements and trackers, thus saving the webpages loading time and power consumption of your computer or mobile phone.
In the future implementation, users can choose to view advertisements and get paid. And this is the mentioned value of attention. But it is still under development progress.
And yet, for the moment, just thinking about the ads block, and that is attractive enough to give this browser a try.
It is not as stable as those browsers like Chrome, but I think the performance is still acceptable. And I believe things will improve.
Compared to Chrome or Safari, the Brave's extensions or plug-ins are still very limited. But from the limited list of supported extensions at the moment, I found something great!
That is Bitwarden, an open source password manager. Yes, it is free. And when things come to applications with high safety demand like password manager (or crypto wallet etc.), I always think that open source software would be a better, and safer choice.
Most of us are facing the headache issue of managing so many passwords for different services on the internet. Instead of using those expensive services like 1password, why not give Bitwarden a try?
