Cheap, easy ways to get crypto?

Are there any cheap, easy ways to mine, buy, or somehow get cryptocurrency? I am interested in all kinds of currencies, even shit coins. lol. I know about faucets but a lot of them have scammed me and not sent money to my wallet. I wanted to start mining on a used laptop but someone told me it was a bad idea. I'm excited to get my first few coins but I'm not sure where to start. I would appreciate any advice or comments.

(Some of my fave coins are DogeCoin, PandaCoin, HempCoin, and PepeCash.)
