RATECoin Wallet - XRA

As I am getting more involved in some altcoins, i found this little neat one, called RateCoin. https://stakeminers.com/ratecoin/ratecoin.html

Now, the reason I picked this particular coin was because I like dividends. Granted, they are not worth much (yet!), but free coins is something I can always get behind! View the the chart and you will see that HODLers are rewarded. The reason is simple; in early stages stakeminers is trying to discourage sporadic trading by giving people an incentive to remove the coins from an exchange and into the wallet. This is is intended to add price pressure on the market by the simple means of "Supply and Demand".

Granted, it should be argued that such a large supply will likely remain on the exchanges, but it is worth a shot. Given that the price for these coins is still relatively low, it is worth a try for my. However, I also would like to point out that I am not endorsing this from a tech. point of view - I simply like the idea of cheaply buying 100k coins and letting them accumulate. 

However, I would like to encourage others to find similar coins - there are plenty out there such as Byteball or Antshares/Antcoin, to name some of the more notable ones.

However, as a complete beginner on this topic, I was not able to get the wallet syncing up, but I ACTUALLY received support from stakeminers, which gave me the feeling that they are interested in people using the wallet. (Good Sign!). So I wanted to share my experience on how to get the Wallet started.

2. Download the Wallet from the link
3. Open the file and move the .exe to C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Roaming\RATECoin
4. Before opening the wallet, create a .txt File
5. Insert text below **
6. Change the extension to .conf and thus name the File RATECoin.conf
7. Start up the wallet and it should sync
