RE: Does Microsoft Buying GitHub Affect Crypto?

in #cryptocurrency6 years ago

I do not think it will have a major impact on Cryptocurrencies as the projects themselves are the clients and could seek alternatives although not many have gotten the transaction that GitHub has. It could also be positive as Microsoft continues to involve itself in innovative technology which could opens its doors to blockchain through the data it will get owning the business.

yes I agree, it is more a good move for Microsoft, than to affect crypto in bad or good way.
Also Git is an open source, so anyone can use it. As it comes the the hub, anyone can create similar type of hub, and start hosting services. Specially if some people would start migration from Github (because it belongs to Microsoft now), so there demand would be there too.

In the longer run, this just shows that Microsoft os looking seriously into cryptos and blockchain, and wants to "keep the muscle", not to fall behind. When such big companies as Binance, Coinbase are growing massively on a daily basis (not only making profits, but purchasing other companies, and growing that way).
