Cryptocurrency portfolio will soon be available on Fidelity Investments
Abigail Johnson, the CEO of Fidelity Investments, is in love with Cryptocurrency.
Ms. Johnson revealed on May 23 at a New York conference that Fidelity has plans to integrate Coinbase portfolio tracking into their investment platform in Q3 2017.
The CEO also revealed that her company has tested various aspects of cryptocurrency, stating: "We have built proofs of concepts that accept bitcoin micro-transactions. We set up small bitcoin and ethereum mining operations, just done in the spirit of learning."
Coinbase was approved to trade Litecoin and Ethereum in March by the New York Department of Financial Services, meaning that we will almost certainly see Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ethereum portfolio tracking in Fidelity investments soon, and thus more mainstream attention for the crypto community.
This is huge news for investors as it marks one of, if not the first integration of crypto and real fiat investments.
