It has been challenging year for many crypto currencies to prove their worth against the volatile and FUDcious market. What we see is what we believe. But our belief is often misguided by the news we read around us. Most of the news covers the crypto market analysis and we miss the crux of any crypto; and that is “its purpose”. So I thought of writing a blog on

has been collaborating and partnering with renowned organizations to integrate and create a Machine to Machine (M2M) economy. Now is pushing itself hard for real corporate and governmental adoption. The major news for all of us is partnering with Taiwan’s capital Taipei to become a smart city by utilizing the Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) or to be specific; TANGLE. This news has been made official by the Commissioner of IT, Taipei City Government.
/> team will also be working on the first project to create smart citizen ID cards built on their Tangle technology. This ID card will be called as TangleID which will assist in eliminating risk of identity theft and voting registration frauds. Along with this the team is also working on a side project that would assist in detecting temperature, humidity and pollution with the help of sensors on these cards. Here the main goal is to keep the citizens up-to-date with the pollution levels information in real time.

tie-up with BOSCH is the biggest move which could send literally to the moon. has many other companies willing to integrate their sensors for helping to grow this automated M2M economy. It makes a transaction possible without any fees and facilitates micro-payments which is required to create M2M economy.
Similarly is working hard with Automobile industry to make driving experience smarter. is already working with BOSCH, Volkswagen, BMW, Porsche and other big corporates.

The data marketplace was set up by the IOTA Foundation in collaboration with more than 35 (soon close to 40) companies as an open innovation initiative, aimed at bringing forth concrete thought leadership on how a data marketplace can be built on top of a distributed ledger, the technical and legal challenges faced when rolling out in production, and the applications in certain industries that can be expected to be built once data is democratized and can move freely.
Given the pace at which
ecosystem is growing & the huge interest from industry leaders it is receiving, it is obvious that those who really know the value of the technology will continue to acquire
, especially in the currently flat, FUD oriented and depressed crypto market.

IOTA will be on moon soon
It's not only team but the whole concept itself is unique and so the giants are getting attracted to try it out. Smart things are happening whether we chose to look or overlook it.
I believe in IOTA's ideology and use-cases, so irrespective of whether it would be on moon or not it will serve a good purpose and if at all it goes on the moon, smart people will on board for the journey. Thanks for your wise words, hope to see you on the moon.
It all sounds really promising indeed @mrs.ginger ... I'm also bullish about iota's bright future....not that much about its price due to its huge supply though...
True @albertoyago, but even the price model is well thought if you see. As the main purpose is micro auto payments through machines, it makes complete sense.
Though I don't like to speculate on prices but the way thing are happening, I won't be surprised to see IOTA in hundreds in coming years. This is just my prediction, so please research on it accordingly.
Smart cities are coming with smart solutions. Hope for the best.

I'm not a big crypto investor, but interested in the technology. I think IOTA and Hashgraph definitely hold the future of distributed ledger.
I didn't realise IOTA had so many ongoing projects though. Very exciting. Possibly an investment for the future.
Well said. Yes, IOTA and Tangle could serve a real purpose to automate many useful real time use-cases. The way corporate industries are joining hands with IOTA shows its capability to deliver what their claim is.
I am so looking forward for Taipei city being a smart city which could show the power of crypto to the rest of the world. Though, it is really depressing when people just compare these ideas with value than the purpose it could serve. And on top of it groupism to demeans someone's true work. Let's see what IOTA could really contribute to the society...

Thanks for the comment. I do have one concern with the IoT, particularly autonomous vehicles and that is 5G. The health effects of 5G are yet to be established, but or IoT to work effectively it would require a global 5G roll out.
Oh wow, thanks for that input. Of course IoT will require higher bandwidth for constantly interacting through some network.
Wasn't knowing 5G's (low-level frequency's) adverse effect until I googled it. Though it seems Verizon and AT&T would have it ready by 2020 in the states. May be they need to adhere to some standards to overcome the adversity it would bring in our life. Hope for the best.

@gaissa; thanks for sharing your thoughts, rather doubts :). I along with my friends have been following IOTA closely with possible due diligence which most of the people fail to do.
This question is too generic but I would assume you are talking about 2 things; 1st is the network being slow or sometimes on heavy maintenance and 2nd is Wallet issues where some people crib about losing funds.

I haven't tried the wallet update yet, but the old wallet didn't seem reliable and wasn't easy to use (you had to generate your own 81 character seed) so I left my IOTA on the exchange (not something I like doing). A couple of weeks ago about $4MM was stolen from IOTA wallets because users had been using an online seed generator.

It seems the Trinity wallet is good. I have to use it as I have few IOTA offline and I hardly keep using the seed on wallets.
Though please read my reply to @gaissa which covers the FUD created about stolen funds. People need to educate themselves before investing money if it matters to them id what I think.

Of course people would live in the smart cities. At the end Smart cities are meant for people irrespective of smart or dumb. Hopefully it shouldn't make people dumb 😊.
