My Crpyto Journey - ~2016 till now

I just saw a post about the crypto journey, and I thought, "Well, why not."

In the beginning

My initial encounter with cryptocurrencies was when I came to know about Bitcoin. I think it was around 2012 or 2013. I was so intrigued by the idea that a person (or a group) named Satoshi Nakamoto, whose identity is still unknown, developed something amazing and gave it away to the community.

During that time, I tried to convince one of my best friends that we should start a mining node. It'd be a profitable venture. Alas, he found it too volatile and at the time considered it a SCAM.!! He couldn't see the bigger picture and decided not to pursue it.

With a few other attempts, I found myself preaching the gold to closed ears. At the time, I had no means to support investment in Bitcoin, so I decided to try and get some money to invest.

Fast forward to the days when I found Ethereum (still running around $1, I think), and through that, Steemit.

I tried Steemit for a while, but I knew that I wasn't a good content creator.

Trading & Learning

After a while, I got into trading with the steem I earned on this platform. Ethereum still around $1-$5. I made a few swing trades. Made a few, Lost a lot!!

Slowly and gradually, I learned how to trade better and started making some good returns. At one point, I had several altcoins, and some bitcoins stashed away.

And then came the crash...

I never really cashed out anything. I just kept on following my initial plan.
Invest - Get Initial Back - Let the rest ride.

But unfortunately, I missed a critical moment when I should've cashed everything out in Bitcoin and let it sit there.
Then after the crash, I slowly started selling the alts and move them into some promising projects like Komodo ($KMD), NKN ($NKN). And now, they all sit in cold storage while I explore other means to develop my understanding of cryptocurrencies.

I hope you liked what you read. A pretty mundane/dull story, but I've left out many details for the sake of keeping this post within readable limits.

Thank you for reading and give me a follow if you like what you just read. I might start producing some excellent content again.

Sort:

This is similar to my crypto journey but I did manage to move enough BTC into Splinterlands assets (formerly Steem Monsters) to keep from losing it all. So far it’s paid off, in that the value of my assets seem to continue to climb and I've cashed out enough along the way to profit at least enough to say I've profited.
