WHY 2018 IS GOING TO BE A BIG YEAR FOR LITECOIN
LitePay enables payments with Litecoin anywhere in the world
LitePay, the payment method developed exclusively for Litecoin, will be released this month. Consumers can then use their litecoins to make purchases anywhere in the world, both online and in stores. The value of the currency is expected to get a big boost once the product is effectively on the market.
Soon consumers will be able to use their litecoins in real life through LitePay. This new transaction processor, which is linked to your wallet and a Visa card, will make it possible to make everyday purchases. Just like you do with your bank card now.
Traders can accept the crypto coin or have it immediately converted to fiat money. So there is no uncertainty in terms of volatility. The litecoins that merchants receive can immediately be converted to the correct dollar value at the time of payment.
LitePay transactions
The possibilities are enormous, LitePay will be accepted wherever you can pay with a regular Visa card. The transaction speed is much higher than with a regular credit card while the transaction costs are lower. With a Visa transaction you usually pay 3 percent costs, LitePay only charges 1 percent per transaction.
It is also a good alternative to the slow and relatively expensive Bitpay, a similar payment service but only for bitcoin and bitcoin cash. Because the litecoin network is much faster and cheaper, LitePay is expected to be more successful than its predecessor.
The payment service was announced in December and was appreciated by the public. There is no official fixed release date. However, it is expected that LitePay will definitely be used this month. It can make crypto more accessible and acceptable on a large scale.
Conclusion
This news is great for Litecoin and I'm pretty sure we can expect more bullish runs in the near future. Litecoin is already being used by most traders and investors since it's cheap to transfer Litecoin and transfers happen relatively fast. I think we will definitely see Litecoin improving their market position when launching Litepay.
Combine this news with the fact that Charlie Lee sold all his Litecoin back in December which makes it a completely decentralized cryptocurrency... Awesome! Investors love decentralized cryptocurrencies... (aka not ripple)
I'm hoping everyone has bought some Litecoin in the dip or already had some, it's still relatively cheap compared to ATH. Great things are coming for LTC!

Off-topic: my Steemit was hungry for Litecoin
When I heard of this great news, I wanted to buy Litecoin. This was not immediately possible but today the money I deposited had arrived and I proceeded as planned; I bought 1 Litecoin. I didn't manage to keep it for very long though...
Steemit persuaded me to buy STEEM POWER with my LTC; IMO STEEM POWER is also a great investment so I feel this was a good move. And so I did: For 1 Litecoin I received 38 Steem power which has been added to my account! By upgrading my STEEM POWER I'm trying to improve and expand my influence on Steemit. Basically I'm trying to increase the value of my account and my vote! This platform is really addictive, loving every bit of my time spent here though.
Who else is addicted to steemit/blogging? lol

Won't be surprised to see LTC in thousand dollars range by this year end. Mass adoption and mainstream calling. LitePay and LitePal could get us there.
Also upcoming confidential transactions and smart contract would boost it to the next level. Once that's achieved ColorCoins (similar to ERC20 tokens) could be easy to achieve.

Mixed feelings! I had held quite a bit at one point. But due to its stability and low transaction fee and good speed, I had used it mainly as a way of going from one exchange to another.
Somehow, if it blew out in price, that would be weirdly against one of its core strengths...
Yes that's exactly what most traders use Litecoin for, but don't you feel Litepay will add extra value to Litecoin and will also improve mass adoption for cryptocurrencies?

Yes, hence the mixed feelings. The core strength of litecoin is its stability in price especially compared with other crypto. A slow rise and new point of stability would be good. But if it becomes speculative, with rapid swings, then it becomes terrible for buying stuff.
But I agree, a measure like this is needed to bring crypto to the masses. In still amazed by the number of people that don't know much about it. Even more that people in it can only see the money and not the possibilities of its application.

I think it's going to be huge and gain mainstream adoption once all the kinks have been fixed and it's had a bit of a redesign.
As for Litepay it's all good, it'll be positive for the other cryptocurrencies as well and hopefully spur a technological arms race with development teams striving to get their coins to go mainstream.
Yes Steemit is awesome but there are definitely issues that need to be resolved and things that need to be improved, but yes huge potential!

Aww yeah I am super excited about this! Lite coins spreading out more which means another victory for Crypto Currency!!! I feel like Litecoin will be reching it`s potential soon enough! I kept hearing about how this coin holds potential. Also how did you get a litecoin? I am still grasping crypto currency and even how steemit fully works can you get some coins by using those steem dollars we get? I have a few steem dollars but right now I wanna hold on to them and let those sit and pile up some before doing anything with them.
