The Truth About ICOs In 2019 And Beyond

Sort:

I love BitPay, I use it for my business. This certainly changes things.

Great show again!! Thanks for bringing attention to the Cointext service. Being from Africa and understanding the technology challenges it faces, this is going to be a awesome entry into the cryptosphere!!

I love this format. Great content. Presentation is short, precise and inspiring. I like your phrases "regarding what you can do with that" or similiar.

Despite the centralized features of the stablecoin options being provided, it is a step in the right direction for more adoption at merchants. Merchants of small and medium business are growing their payment options as they seek more efficiencies. If they experience immediated consideration for good and services instead of waiting for fiat payments from the credit cards networks, demand for cryptocurrencies would increase and lead to further adoption. The important point is that the benefits of the options are demonstrated to shift preferences in the future.

People now are more educated about ICO's. Beyond that during this bear market i think that people are not very willing to invest using the cryptos that they bought during the last trimester of 2017. They are hodling. Maybe if some of the ICO's offered the possibility to invest using fiat there would be more money comming to the crypto space.

CoinText is not that trusted, as it sounds. They do not have your key. They CoinText system has only "half they key" and needs to combine it with a hash of your number in order to get the private key on the go. CoinText explicitly does not store any private keys from anyone.

That being said, you trust them, that they "do not save your keys", because they surely could. But the idea is, that they are no trusted escrow service and also legally not seen as such, because they do not directly hold the keys to your accounts

It's explained in the Help page

bitcoin by phone sounds really useful. that would make it super easy for me for me to split the bill when going out. my friends dont even need an account.

CoinText makes it easy. If you can text you can crypto! I am blown away by this technology from CoinText. Also drives crypto acceptance. Love it.

I agree, using simple text-sms/email/sound for long distant p2p or rfid/nfc/qr-code for close range/in person p2p transfer using mobile phones, will be great advantage taking the ease of adoption all over the world with the current installed base (this is also ETN argument to capture mobile owners into crypto). Sure I am learning alot about stable coins in your content, thanks for that keep up bringing new info and even using the 'news' for that .. bye 4now ;)

I agree. I'm in favor of anything that increases crypto adoption. Sure SMS is not the safest, but it's not the worst either. As peoples knowledge increases, they can use it to move small amounts and keep bigger in their hardware wallets.
